Faith at Home

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another with all wisdom and with gratitude in your hearts, singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:16-17)

As Christians we are encouraged by the Apostle Paul to let the word of God “dwell in you richly.” It is important to our faith to gather together with other Christians to hear and receive the word of God. While this happens in our weekly worship at Zion, God’s word is meant to be an ever present part of our life, a daily reality for the life of a Christian. God’s word, along with prayer are two vital ways our faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened and maintained. Just a few verses later, Paul encourages us to “devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2) Below are resources for daily prayer, scripture reading, tools for Bible study and resources for family devotions. I encourage you to make use of these tools which help us be disciples of Jesus who are devoted to prayer, and who have the word of Christ dwelling in us richly.

-Pastor Phil
